You can get to Chania either by plane to Chania International Airport Ioannis Daskalogiannis which is 15 km from Chania town or by ferry to Chania Port which is Souda and is only 11 km from the centre.

As you navigate your way through the narrow streets of Chania you would feel the atmosphere of those days, this walk would lead you to the Old Venetian Harbour of Chania which is surrounded by many buildings dating back to Ottoman, Venetian, and Egyptian times.
The Venetian lighthouse by the old harbour, originally built in the 16th century and later modified by the Egyptians in 1839.
The Mosque of Janissaries located near the Venetian Harbour was built in the middle of the 17th century. Nowadays, the Mosque is used as an exhibition centre. As well historic sites such as Firkas Castle also called Revellino Del Porto which is located opposite the harbour.
The Castle was built in 1629 to protect the entrance of Chania's Old Venetian Harbour. Dalian Street is well known for its great bars and restaurants.
You can combine your visit with the nearby Municipal Market of Chania, also known as Agora Market. This is one of the main attractions of the town, which was opened in 1911, you can find many stands selling fresh vegetables, meats, fish, herbs, and spices sourced from across the island of Crete.
