You can get everything you need in Crete to enjoy a fantastic holiday. Renting a car gives you freedom to explore the island and travel from beach to beach.
We’ve put together some useful tips to get the best out of your break.
Best time to visit Crete
The summer season from April to October is the best time to see Crete in all its splendour. From the beautiful white sand beaches to the crystal clear waters, the soaring temperatures of over 35°C are a draw for sun seekers from all over the world. Once you arrive at your idyllic blue flag beach, you can hire a sun lounger to relax and an umbrella to shelter you from the sun’s rays. You can also pick up a bite to eat from the beach cafes and bars.
Passport and visa requirements for Greece
With a full British passport you can enter Greece as a visitor and stay for up to three months. Your passport needs to be valid for the proposed duration of your stay. You don’t currently need a visa to enter Greece, as both countries are part of the European Union (EU). You can check the latest travel information before you leave at the Foreign Office.
